A day in Saint-Cast-le-Guildo

When you stay at Les Mielles campsite in the Côtes d'Armor, you'll love spending a day in Saint-Cast-le-Guildo, where everything can be done on foot. We've put a typical day to the test for you. Follow us as we tell you all about it!

Local breakfast on the terrace

Wake up gently at Les Mielles campsite in our well-equipped 1-bedroom mobile home. To get the day off to the best possible start, what better way than with a breakfast on the terrace. Head for the Saint-Cast-le-Guildo. It takes just 5 minutes to reach the small square, where you'll be spoilt for choice. We chose the restaurant La Belle Meunière with its beautiful stone arches and magnificent façade. The breakfast menu includes a choice of tea, coffee, hot chocolate served in magnificent period mugs, and squeezed orange for a vitamin D boost. And when it comes to pastries, there's plenty to tempt your taste buds: croissants or pain au chocolat, fresh bread, butter, jam, brioche, kouign-amann!

Once you've had your fill of energy, it's off to the narrow streets and local shops, perfect for bringing back a little holiday souvenir From jewellery and ready-to-wear to local products and postcards, you'll find everything you need!

The beach as far as the eye can see

With the good weather on our side, we headed for the beach at Saint-Cast-le-Guildo for the traditional sandcastle, feet (and paws) in the water, a little cool but invigorating, and lazing around. For sports enthusiasts, a beach volleyball court is freely available! Just 250 m from the campsite, there's no need to look for a parking space - it's easy to get there on foot, by bike or on a scooter. For those who want to go for a walk, you can stroll along the seafront by taking the dyke and joining the GR34.

A snack for those with a sweet tooth

Approaching 4.00 p.m.: return to the town centre to enjoy a tasty meal, depending on your tastes. homemade ice cream, a waffle or a crêpe (with salted butter caramel, of course). You're bound to find what you're looking for and your favourite flavour. at Tinou or to Ty Castin, both located on rue du Duc d'Alguillon in the centre of town, close to the children's play area.

A sweet moment with the unmissable Breton galette!

What better way to end the day than to put your feet up under the table and simply enjoy. To finish off this little Castin trip, we went to the crêperie « Happiness is in the Wheat ». Cider, kir Breton, galettes of all kinds, sweet crêpes - the menu is rich, and the cravings are endless, but you just have to make up your mind. Shellfish galettes, meat galettes, goat's cheese galettes, and so many other choices are available. For dessert, there are crêpes flambées with ice cream, classic crêpes flambées and ice creams - there's something for everyone! We loved this little place, where the service is fast, the team smiling and friendly, and the menu to match our tastes!

Here's our little spring Castine day! Of course, there's other activities in St-Cast which we haven't had time to do, but which we recommend you try from our list of activities. It's up to you to plan your day as you wish!
