A day in Saint-Cast-le-Guildo
While staying at the campsite Les Mielles in the Côtes d’Armor, you will enjoy spending a day in Saint-Cast-le-Guildo where it is possible to do everything on foot. We tested for you a typical day, follow us we tell you everything!
Local breakfast on the terrace
Wake up gently at the campsite Les Mielles in our well-equipped 1 bedroom mobile home. To start this day in the best way, what better than a breakfast on the terrace. Direction the center of Saint-Cast-le-Guildo. 5 minutes are enough to reach the small square where you will be spoilt for choice. We chose the restaurant La Belle Meunière with its beautiful stone arches and its magnificent façade. Breakfast formula with a choice of: tea, coffee, hot chocolate served in beautiful antique mugs, squeezed orange to fill up on vitamin D. Then, when it comes to pastries, it’s time to indulge your sweet tooth: croissants or chocolate bread, fresh bread, butter, jam, brioche, kouign-amann, you’ll love it!
Once you’ve had your fill of energy, head for the little streets and local stores, perfect for bringing back a little souvenir of your vacation: jewelry, ready-to-wear, local products, postcards, there’s everything you need!
The beach as far as the eye can see
The good weather being with us, we went to the beach of Saint-Cast-le-Guildo for the traditional sand castle, the feet (and legs) in the water, a little fresh but invigorating, and the idleness. For sportsmen, a beach volleyball court is freely available! At 100 m from the campsite, there is no need to look for a parking space for several minutes, on foot, by bike or on a scooter, it is very easy to get there. For those who wish to walk, you can stroll along the sea by taking the dike, and joining the GR34.
The snack for the gourmands
4:00 pm approach : back to the city center to taste, according to your desires, a good home made ice cream, a waffle, a pancake (with salted butter caramel of course). You are sure to find your favorite perfume at Tinou or Ty Castin, both located on rue du Duc d’Alguillon in the center of town near the children‘s playground.
A moment of sweetness with the unavoidable Breton pancake!
What better way to end the day than to put your feet under the table and simply enjoy. To finish this small Castin journey, we went to the creperie ” Le Bonheur est dans le Blé “. Cider, kir Breton, Breton pancake, sweet crepe, the menu is rich, the desires are linked but it is necessary to decide. Shellfish cake, meat cake, goat cake, and so many other choices are available to you. For dessert, “crepes flambées”, classics, ice creams, there is something for you to enjoy for sure! We loved this little address where the service is fast, the team smiling and friendly and the menu in accordance with our desires!
